Altano Tinto Rewilding (Bag in Tube) 2018
£37.99
The wine is a classic blend of the Douro, coming from vineyards with higher elevations in order to create a fresh, elegant and fruity profile obtained from the Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz and Tinta Barroca grape varieties.
This wine contributes to Rewilding Portugal’s efforts to protect and restore the natural landscapes of the countryside of Portugal.
The bag-in-tube cardboard format (2.25l) contains the equivalent of three bottles and is easily recyclable, in addition to having a carbon footprint much lower than the equivalent volume in glass and allowing good conservation of the contents — after opening — for a period of four to six weeks.
Why we love this:
This format is ideal, especially if you want an occasional glass of wine but don't want to open a whole bottle. The eco credentials make the wine taste all the better!

ABOUT THE PRODUCER
Originally famous for the production of Port, the Douro is increasingly becoming known for its high quality red and white wines. In 1979 the demarcated region of the Douro was granted its Denomination of Origin for table wine, and since then both the production and quality of table wines have increased dramatically. It is now apparent that this region is capable of producing wines that can rival the very best in the world, and due to the unique terroir and grape varieties they have a highly distinctive character and style not to be found elsewhere.
