From two sites: Beaume and Péléat, on a loess dominated soil, particularly well exposed to the south-west. Aged in 100% new small French oak barrels from Taransaud and Seguin-Moreau. Superb, loaded with deep, powerful black fruits. Complex and spicy with swathes of rich, ripe tannins and a long concentrated finish. A brilliant wine which will repay cellaring.

ABOUT THE PRODUCER

Yann Chave joined his father Bernard at the family winery in 1996 and swiftly set about expanding and improving the estate. Today, the domaine extends over 20 hectares, including 1.15 hectares on the hill of Hermitage itself, and is certified organic in its entirety.
