Ghislain Kohut Marsannay Rouge a Beautiful Pinot Noir from Burgundy has an intense colour with an exuberant bouquet of red berries (Morello cherries, strawberries) and dark coloured berries (blackcurrant, blueberry). The attack on the palate, both powerful and generous, harmonizes perfectly with the rounded finish and satisfying length. Pairs naturally with red meats like prime rib or tenderloin with shallots… You could also pair with freshwater fish (pike, perch, even a stuffed carp), sautéed vegetables, quality charcuterie, wild game, or cow’s milk cheeses without hesitation. An older vintage of this wine would combine perfectly with a stronger ripened cheese like Époisses or Munster.

Considered to be the golden gateway to the Côte de Nuits, the Marsannay AOC stretches out over the villages of Chenôve, Marsannay-la-Côte and Couchey. Though the presence of vineyards in this village is only attested to since the 7th century, the prestige of these vineyards has been recognized for quite some time. Wines from Marsannay graced the table of King Louis XIV and Louis XVI…

It is the only village appellation in Burgundy to make the 3 colors of wine: Red, Rosé, and White.

This is a blend of several different parcels in the center of the appellation, primarily on crinoidal limestone. The vines are between and 40 and 20 years old, with low yields.

Aging in tank for an average of 24 months to conserve the fingerprint of the terroir and the fresh aromatics of the harvest.
