NOSE

Blind Summit Miltonduff 14 YO Bordeaux Wine Barrique is polished and mature, opening with floral notes and aromatic cherry fruit, then rich mahogany, and old leather-bound books. Beneath that, dried fruits and spiced orange peel mingle with hints of nutmeg, tobacco leaf and a trace of polished brass. Subtle red fruit and soft vanilla bring lift and warmth.

PALATE

Rounded and structured, showing layers of dried fig, date and apricot alongside baking spices and fine oak tannin. Hints of dark chocolate, worn leather and toasted almond add depth. The texture is rich yet dry, with a lingering finish of polished wood, gentle spice and mature malt sweetness.

DISTILLED: 23.03.2008

Matured for its first 10 years in refill Bourbon Hogshead. Re-racked by James into First fill Saint-Julien Bordeaux Wine Barrique, in 2021.

ABOUT THE PRODUCER

BLIND SUMMIT

Taking a hands-on approach we taste, source, re-rack, bottle and deliver ourselves. This takes time as there are just two of us, but it’s a rewarding way to stay connected to the whiskies and the people in the industry we love.

THE PROCESS

We source small parcels of whisky, then further mature or re-rack into another cask to add more layers of flavour. The cask selection draws on our collective whisky and wine knowledge.

The labels are the result of local collaborations, working with talented friends and designers to create an original image for each release. The initial image tells a story that is close to us, the artist then interprets that photo into their original design, with a different version appearing on each whisky expression.

Supporting local and small has always been a shared priority, which is why we strive to collaborate with people and businesses in our local Leith community.
