The vineyard is spread out on round pebbles terroir typical of the Rhône Valley. Located on the Mount Montjau (Mount Jupiter), it is on the heights of Bourg-Saint-Andéol village, overlooking the valley. The vines are over 40 years old, with limited yields and flourish on limestone-based terroir, rich in round pebbles and loose stones. The influence of the Mistral avoids disease and helps the grapes to reach a good maturity.
A long 18 day maceration makes the wine concentrated and rich, yet balanced.
Spices and chocolate on the nose, powerful and full bodied in the mouth, with notes of black cherry and red berries. An ample and well-structured wine, finely polished tannins and a smooth mouth feel.

Why we love this:

This was a hit with the team the moment we tasted it. Everyone guessed it tasted almost twice the price it was!
It has great concentration, but is equally never heavy or over-bearing. A great wine for varied drinking occasions.

ABOUT THE PRODUCER

The vineyard is located in the south east of southern Ardèche on the right bank of the Rhône valley.
It is located on clay-limestone, basalt and sandstone soils with the influence of a Mediterranean climate.
The harvest is made at night during the coolest hours, and a short maceration allows to obtain a beautiful deep pink color.
